FAQs

What is the dress code?

Semi-formal. The wedding party will be in navy blue and grey.

Assuming the weather accommodates it, the ceremony will be held outside; please plan footwear appropriate for walking on dirt and grass.

Great! … what does “semi-formal” actually mean?

Please do not stress over dress code! We recommend “dressy + comfortable”.

The internet generally agrees on the following descriptions:

MEN: Suit jackets / blazers

Dress shoes

Seasonal colors

Ties optional

WOMEN: Cocktail / midi dress, pantsuit, jumpsuit

Any dress shoes (keep in mind walking on grass)

Seasonal colors, prints

Fun accessories

What is the dress code the rest of the weekend?

Friday night dinner: Casual / Dressy Casual

We will be grilling; jeans are fine, cocktail attire is too dressy

Activities (Friday / Saturday):

Please plan to dress casually and comfortably throughout the weekend, and especially for the planned activities

(Kayaking / orchard picking / hiking on Friday and lawn games on Saturday)

Are children / pets welcome?

We understand that it can be difficult to be away from and/or find care for your young children and pets for a long weekend. We have some ability to accommodate if needed; please e-mail us at browakparty@gmail.com with questions or concerns.

Will there be vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free/nut-free food options?

Please include specifics regarding any food allergies and dietary restrictions in your RSVP.

You can also e-mail us at browakparty@gmail.com.

What meals will be provided?

Three meals per day will be provided on-site; served in the event building (labeled Main Barn on the map) unless otherwise identified, at the times listed on the schedule. An up-to-date schedule will be provided - confirming meals / times / locations / and more - when you check in.

Each house has a kitchen available for shared use - feel free to bring groceries for snacks or whatever will make your stay most comfortable.

Meals:

Thursday - Light Dinner (after arrivals)

Friday - Breakfast / Lunch - brownbag lunches for kayakers/hikers, sandwiches for others / Dinner

Saturday - Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner

Sunday - Breakfast (prior to departure)

How large is the wedding?

The wedding and ceremony will be a small family event (fewer than 25 people).

What is the deal with the accommodations?

There are multiple houses on the property that we have rented for the weekend. These houses have common areas, like kitchens and living rooms, private bedrooms with queen and double beds, and shared bathrooms. Room assignments will be optimized to minimize the number of people sharing each bathroom.

Is there a bonfire planned?

Yes - after the ceremony and dinner, we plan to celebrate with drinks, snacks, and music at a bonfire. There will be time to change out of fancy clothes before the bonfire, into something more comfortable that you may not mind smelling smoky the next day.

Is it just me, or do a lot of these plans seem a bit untraditional?

Andrew and Teresa are looking forward to a fun, intimate weekend with close family - this may not include many “traditional” wedding customs or activities, but we are excited to spend time with all of you, and for you to witness us taking the next step in our relationship.

Is there someone I can contact if I have any other questions?
